Accessing Aeroplan.com – Website Issue

A small number of Aeroplan Members from Ontario that have Bell Sympatico as their Internet provider have been experiencing intermittent problems accessing the Aeroplan website. This issue has been thoroughly investigated by Aeroplan and Bell where the issue was found to reside. Bell is working on a solution that should permanently resolve the connectivity issue to aeroplan.com.

In the meantime, Members that use Bell as an Internet provider are asked to report any inability to connect to aeroplan.com to Bell’s Sympatico Support Line at 310-SURF (7873) from Ontario and Québec or 1 800 773-2121 from anywhere in Canada.

Should you wish to obtain information about travel or redeem your Aeroplan Miles for travel,  please contact us at 1-800-361-5373.

We thank you for your patience and are sorry for the inconvenience.

Is it fine to insert a portion of this in my personal blog if I submit a reference point to this web site?

As long as you link back to the original source, that would be fine.

When I originally left a comment I clicked on the Notify me when new comments are added checkbox and now each time a remark is added I get four email messages with the identical comment.

I am finding that the Aeroplan site is very slow. I have no problems with other other airlines and my Videotron connection is over 4MB/s. For Aeroplan, it times out on logon. Aeroplan has always been slow. I think it’s all those adds you try to load. Maybe you should stop trying to sell me and make the site faster or I will continue to swtich back to Detla. BTW – I fly over 150K miles per year across airlines. But, if you check my account, you will notice that you do not get all of my business as it is much easier to book flights with Delta than AC.
The Air Canada site also has problems (sometimes for on-line check in). For some reason the website experiences performance issues but the Blackberry app does not. Lastly, it is very customer unfriendly to have two different sites for Aeroplan and Air Canada. I know it is run as two different business, but we are the same customers trying to work across the mess that has been created.

Please tell me how to find out how many aeroplan points are required to fly to the United Kingdom, or to anywhere else.
This site is really just not user-friendly enough for me.

I have been trying to get access to the Aeroplan web site for days, but the welcome screen says…”Sorry

Our web site is down for routine maintenance and will be unavailable until 11:00 GMT.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Be sure to come back later and try again.

    Thank you for your patience.”

I am loosing patience, and loosing the opportunity to book using my hundreds of thousands of soon-to-expire airmiles on those extremely limited available seats while they twitter their thumbs.

This problem has been going on for at least six months. I’ve had enough. I’m off today to sign up for Avion. I have alot of aeroplan miles to use and when they are gone, i’m gone. I spent almost six hours two weeks ago talking to tech people at Aeroplan. It took three phone calls to finally get someone to admit there was a problem. If you call to book a ticket you will get charged the booking fee because the operators there tell you that there is no problem with the website. The worst customer service EVER. I’ve been in business for 30 years and if I treated my customers like that I would have been bankrupt years ago.

I cannot get to aeroplan online at all any more and will not be booking flights via air canada unless somebody fixes this problem in the next two days! Westjet is going to get my money because from what I can tell this is a hopeless cause

i am with Eastlink but have tried to book a package vacation through aeroplan.com since last evening. So far i have been asked to call 1-866-689-8080, 1-866-529-2079,-1866-880-0610,-1800-361-5373 and 1-800-310-3893. i have spent hours on hold as i am currently doing. it’s 9 pm so i expect my call will be disconnected again as it was last evening.
My problem is that I log in, search for a package vacation and put it in my cart, i accept the package and step 2 is to enter the passsengers info and aeroplan number. i check off that i do not want insurance and press continue. the response i get is that the aeroplan number is incorrect. Now how can that be if I’m logged on?
They already made me change the password and still that didn’t help.(which I knew wouldn’t work because I was logged on and the # was fine) I am doing this for my 79 year old mother. This is ridiculous. Work is less stressful than planning this holiday.

After 1 hour on the phone and more than half of it on hold the agent could not get an IT person so I was just told she will produce a ticket and IT dept. will get in touch with me tomorrow and that i can try and book the trip next month. We were planning on flying out Sunday.

From Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday from 12:30 to 9pm back and forth with different phone #s and constantly on hold and still getting absolutely no where.

      Not impressed at all.
