The history of America’s independence is woven into the fabric of present-day Boston. The John Hancock Center towers harmoniously over the grave of John Hancock, and you can down a pint of Sam Adams within a few yards of Faneuil Hall, where Samuel Adams urged on his fellow colonists to fight the British. The city is so compact that it’s easy to find Revolutionary War-era sights merging with modernity on the same block. Just don’t complain about the weather or you’ll start to sound like a local, with or without swallowing your r’s.

Aeroplan Members are pretty seasoned travelers.  We’ve asked them for their opinion when it comes to their top picks for where to stay, where to eat, and what to do.  We’ve tallied all their votes and have been able to identify the best of Boston as voted by our Aeroplan Members.

Where to Stay

We’ve asked our Aeroplan Members which Aeroplan Partner Hotels they prefer to stay with when travelling to Boston and they have made their voices heard. They have identified the top 10 hotels in Boston.

The Fairmont Battery Wharf was the top pick by our Aeroplan Members, and we weren’t surprised as this property is already starting to develop both a local and international following. Out-of-towners savour the location: overlooking the harbour and within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops of the North End. A water taxi brings you straight from Logan International Airport to the hotel in the warm-weather months, a great way to arrive in Boston and see the skyline. Enjoy cocktails and live jazz at the Battery Lounge on select nights, a true feast for the ears.

Atlantic Fish CompanyWhere to Dine

Atlantic Fish Company’s up scale décor shouldn’t intimidate you as its friendly service and casual atmosphere will leave you wanting more. Voted as the best place to eat in Boston by our Aeroplan Members, the Atlantic Fish Co won’t disappoint. Our number one recommendation is the New England Clam Chowder, known as one of the best in the city and has actually won the Improper Bostonian’s  Best chowder award in 2013.  After you’ve been warmed up with the chowder, the crab cakes or the lobster rolls are a great option and sure to keep you smiling all day long.   The Atlantic Fish Co is definitely a seafood lover’s paradise and the top restaurant to dine at in Boston.

What to Do

,dreamstime, bigstock, shutterstock, istockLet’s go out to a ballgame! As voted by our Aeroplan Members, heading to Fenway Park was the number one thing to do while in Boston. Even though watching a Boston Red Sox game is highly recommended, there is still a lot to see and do at the stadium in the offseason, like touring the stadium!
If you decide to tour the stadium, the tour starts in the gift shop, so you’ll have time to shop for gifts before and after your tour. It’s the best way to get an insider’s peek at all the areas of the park. As the oldest ball park in the USA, Fenway Park is a piece of baseball history, and even American history.  It definitely should not be missed when travelling to Boston. If that hasn’t convinced you to go, then the fact that our Aeroplan Members voted this landmark as the number one thing to do in Boston should
