Best Skylines in the World

When traveling, having the view of an amazing city skyline is always an added bonus.  Recently, I traveled to New York City and stayed in the neighboring Hoboken, NJ,  W Hoboken where I had a view of the entire island of Manhattan from my room.  I stared at the skyline for hours.  It’s a really nice bonus to have a room with a view of a city skyline. Wanting to know which city skylines where the best, we turned to our Aeroplan Members on facebook and twitter.  Always eager to share with us what their top picks are, we were able to compile this list of top 10 skylines in the world. The top ten skylines as voted by our Facebook Fans and Twitter followers are:
  1. Hong Kong
  2. Vancouver
  3. New York City
  4. Chicago
  5. Toronto
  6. Calgary

I have to agree with Andrew…. Sydney should be included. For me Sydney, Vancouver and New York fit the bill….. But that’s possibly only because I haven’t been to Hong Kong.

I think you missed London… Really interesting shapes.. with the new Shard, 30 St. Mary’s Axe, St.Pauls and so much more.

Of the ones I have seen, Hong Kong is definitely the first one that comes to mind. Vancouver and NY are beutifully stunning ones as well. But San Francisco would definitely rank higher in my mind, Way higher than Toronto or Calgary, for example.

Split, Croatia. A definite top 3. Just go to Google images and type in “Split at night”–the pictures speak for themselves.

As a travel photographer, I am shocked that Sydney didn’t make the list!
